There are more than 52,000 children in the foster care systems in Georgia, Indiana and Tennessee alone. According to research by JAMA Pediatrics, the number of children entering the foster care system as a result of parental substance use has more than doubled since 2000. The opioid epidemic has had a profound effect on children needing foster care. Children needing a foster care family find themselves in a vulnerable position. Many of our kids need short term homes (typically less than a year) but many need longer term homes (more than a year). There are some things only a family can provide. As a foster parent, you can provide a safe home for these children. We welcome foster families of all shapes and sizes! We have foster families who are single, married, empty-nesters, LGBTQ, families with children and families without children. Our screening process is designed to ensure that you are equipped to provide a safe and nurturing environment for a child to thrive.
